Explanatory text | In certain circumstances it is required to mitigate the power frequency magnetic field generated by electrical installations, like overhead/underground lines, transformers, MV/LV switchgears, etc. One of the solutions is placing a shield of conductive or ferromagnetic material, normally in form of planar sheets located close to the source. This research will explore the possibility of designing non-planar sheets that allow less losses in the shield, less material and similar mitigation. Some kind of shape optimization technique will be applied. |
